The food and service was excellent. Feel like family here! Quality sushi and yummy appetizers and courses in between!

The seasoning and fish cut and rice portion is just perfect! All the fish just melts in your mouth! They focus on the quality of the fish and not overloads unnecessary fancy ingredients. Because the way the chef prepares it is just fantastic on its own!

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, but it’s packed with delicious food and amazing service. It’s an authentic Japanese restaurant (you feel like your parents are cooking for you!) Everything I had was incredibly fresh, from the sushi to the eel box, They use good ingredients. Don’t skip the dessert, their cheesecake and panna cotta was insane!

I LOVE KAPPO SUI!
Best sushi ever, relaxing atmosphere, and great service. It’s where my friends and I can go to unwind after a long hard day of work.
REAL AUTHENTIC JAPANESE FOOD
It’s rare to find restaurant like this around here!

What a hidden gem, I can’t believe I’ve never been here after living in Irvine for so long. It’s difficult to find a sushi/ Japanese restaurant so authentic anymore. We ordered crab dumplings, tempura, garlic clam soup, yellowtail Kama and some sashimi. All well prepared and delicious and fresh. Service is over the top, owner Zuke is very friendly. The location just doesn’t justify the quality of the food. Highly recommended!!

Amazing sushi; authentic and fresh.

I’ll be honest, the ambulance could use some work. It looks a little bit like a diner but the owner takes personal care of all customers, (service) so I’m willing to overlook the ambience because of the good sushi.

Under new management, the hole-in-the-wall restaurant has managed to bring new life to Costa Mesa cuisine. This is the real deal–Japanese food in the fine tradition of Kappo (kappo, which literally means cutting and simmering) dining.
An offering an affordable Omakase in addition to many other authentic Japanese dishes, Kappo Sui brings new meaning to “I leave it up to you.”
